Creative Media Limited has developed PSMs (Public Service Messages) on disaster risk reduction for DIPECHO-VI with the partnership of Oxfam, PLAN, ActionAid, National Alliance for Risk Reduction & Response Initiatives (NAARI), Islamic Relief, European Commission, Concern Worldwide, Help Age International, Handicap, Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. These Public Service Messages promoted disaster preparedness and mitigation practices among rural and urban communities in Bangladesh through mass media awareness messages. Under this assignment Creative Media Limited produced Public Service Messages on Earthquake preparedness and mitigation message on the urban context (both Bangla &English; version), Earthquake preparedness and mitigation message on the rural context (both Bangla &English; version), Flood preparedness and mitigation message on the rural context (both Bangla &English; version), Cyclone preparedness and mitigation message on the rural context and Fire safety messages on urban context. In the Public Service Message for Earthquake preparedness, Muhammad ZafarIqbal conveyed message to public about the what-to-do and emergency help lines during Earthquake. In the other Public Service Message for Earthquake preparedness, Musa Ibrahim conveyed message to public about the what-to-do during Earthquake. In the rest two PSMs, Bangladeshi international cricketer and the world's top-ranked all-rounder Sakib Al Hasan conveyed message to public to follow the building code while constructing a building and gave information about flood and cyclone preparedness. In the PSM of flood preparedness and cyclone signals and preparedness, Bangladeshi singer and producer of Bengali folk music Momotaz provided necessary information to public. Thus our produced PSMs were effective because those were consisted of the famous public figures’ presence. They have the ability to motivate people for disaster preparedness.
